Why I am doing the World Race.
I have felt the call to ministry and missions specifically for the past 3-4 years, and through these years, there have been several opportunities, but all of them fell through due to my own fear of the unknown and of what I would have to leave behind. It wasn't until someone told me about an opportunity to go to Guatemala that I really started to consider what it would be like if I did drop everything to do missions. In an intense moment of contemplation, prayer, and studying, I heard God asked me if I love Him through the scripture John 21:15-17 where God asks Peter if he loves Him. He says, "Then tend my sheep."
This moment was a turning point in my Christian walk. I started to ask myself, "Do I really love God? and if I do, wont I do what He is calling me to do?" and so the next day, I gave the confirmation that I would go to Guatemala and do the mission. I started to ask God that if missions was what I was really supposed to do, that He would work His divine choreography into the trip and that opportunity would present itself. As we ministered in Guatemala, I kept hearing the words "World Race" in passing. Curiosity gripped me and so I asked around, what is the World Race? After hearing about the organization and what it was all about, the pull to look more into it grew stronger and stronger. When we arrived back at the U.S, I started to research and confirm all that I had heard and the Lord spoke that this was the path. Since that first week back from Guatemala until now, that passion to reach those who are suffering and haven't heard the good news has grown exponentially. My Love for the Father and for others has matured to the point where I am ready to drop it all and be a life laid down so that others can hear the name of Jesus, that they might be saved.
That is why I am going to do the World Race.
